A pet emergency is almost never just one visit. The animal arrives, the vet examines it, orders blood work, often an X-ray or ultrasound, and depending on the case the pet stays in the hospital for observation.
By Pet Veter's numbers, an emergency with a visit, tests and a hospital stay easily reaches R$ 1.000. When the case calls for surgery, the cost can go past R$ 5.000.
