Two houses on the same block can get different answers when they ask if fiber is available. That happens because the fiber cable runs along the poles to a distribution box, and each box serves a limited number of homes within a short radius. If the box closest to your home is full or too far away, the network needs some work before the installation.
What to check before you ask
- The street ZIP code. It shows which part of the city you are in and which team serves that area
- The house or building number. It tells which distribution box is closest
- House, townhouse or apartment. In a building, the fiber has to run through the common area, and sometimes the building manager has to approve it
The boxes on the pole give you a clue
Take a look at the pole in front of your home. Fiber boxes are small and closed, usually black or gray, with several thin cables coming out of them. A box nearby is a good sign, but it may belong to another provider, so the ZIP code is still how you confirm.
Where Soma serves today
Soma brings fiber to Araucária, Colombo, Curitiba, Fazenda Rio Grande, Pinhais, Ponta Grossa and São José dos Pinhais. Within each city, coverage is confirmed street by street.
The Flash 300 plan has one extra rule. It is only available in Capão Raso and Pinheirinho, and only on some streets in those two neighborhoods.
How to check in one minute
Type your ZIP code in the field on the coverage page. The site finds the street and the neighborhood and opens Soma's WhatsApp with the address already filled in. The team tells you if fiber reaches you and which plan is available on your street.
